When ALP Learning required a community refreshment Hub, they came to Cleveland Containers for a bespoke kiosk solution.

The project involved modifying a 20ft New (One Trip) Shipping Container to meet the Academy’s requirements. Generously funded by the Mears Foundation, the unit was created as a dedicated catering unit to provide refreshments for the local community using the school’s facilities outside of school hours.

The container was fitted out with electrics and lighting, sinks, and a serving hatch, making it fully functional for food and beverage service. The exterior was cladded and resprayed in a sleek black finish for durability and visual appeal, while bespoke signage and menus were added on either side of the serving hatch, creating a professional, welcoming, and easy-to-use facility for visitors.

The original cargo doors were left in place, and a personnel door was added opposite to make access simple for the team. Once delivered to site, ALP Learning completed the internal fit-out with their own equipment and confectionery.

Cleveland Containers supplied ALP Active and Whitworth Park Academy with a container to support the development of our new on-site food and refreshment facility.

This project, generously funded by the Mears Foundation, has been a true community initiative aimed at enhancing the experience for users of the school’s facilities during out of school hours. The container provided by Cleveland Containers formed the foundation of this facility, with additional support from external companies for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing internal fit-out.

During a visit to the site, we had the pleasure of seeing the kiosk in use, serving hot drinks, sandwiches, and confectionery to children and adults using the school’s 3G football pitch, netball courts, sports hall, sports hub, and dining facilities.

Open during evenings, weekends, and school holidays, the kiosk provides a convenient refreshment point for the many people making use of the Academy’s sports and recreational spaces.

This project demonstrates how Cleveland Containers can deliver flexible, bespoke container conversions that support community-focused initiatives, offering a reliable and flexible setup that fits the school’s ongoing activities.

The quality of the container and the service provided from Cleveland Containers was excellent, and the finished facility has been extremely well received by the community.

We would not hesitate to recommend Cleveland Containers and are grateful for their contribution to a successful and impactful community project.
