Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) is carrying out one of the biggest projects in its 356-year history - the Edinburgh Biomes initiative.

This landmark restoration and development programme will avoid the loss of up to 6,000 plant species in one of the world’s most important living plant collections and deliver world-leading facilities to protect the work of this national institution.

As part of the wider Edinburgh Biomes redevelopment, we provided two 20ft New (One Trip)  Upgraded Container conversions to support on-site operational requirements. Both units were created to provide secure and practical workspaces, complete with internal electrics and LED lighting to support daily use. Aluminium vents were installed in one unit to promote airflow and ventilation, ensuring equipment and materials remain safe. 

One container was fitted with ply lining, lighting, electrics, a convection heater, a sink, and a storage cupboard, making it ideal for tasks requiring both comfort and functionality. The second unit featured electrics, lighting, ventilation, and wooden planks along the sides for hooks to store equipment, providing a flexible solution for kit and operational storage.
