Cleveland Celebrates World Day for Safety and Health at Work

Health and Safety Manager, Paul Kell, and Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Thompson, discuss the advancements made in health and safety at the Cleveland group over the last year.

Mellieha Blair

Practical improvements including working at height procedures, LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) systems, and tools that reduce HAVS (Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome) have greatly enhanced the working conditions for our depot workforce.

The safety team worked incredibly hard to achieve UKAS accredited ISO standards in 9001 (Quality), 14001 (Environmental) and 45001 (Health and Safety) in just a few months, demonstrating that we operate at the highest international standard of all three areas.

We have also gained memberships with industry bodies such as the MPBA (Modular Portable Building Association), RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents), Alcumus SafeContractor and Constructionline, for which we have a bronze accreditation.

The improvements and qualifications we have achieved over the last year serve to strengthen our industry leading health and safety record.
