Cleveland Containers Shortlisted at the North East Accountancy Awards!

The North East Accountancy Awards recognise excellence within the fields of finance, accounting and tax from all industry sectors operating in the North East. 

This year, we are finalists for Business Finance Team of the Year and Matthew Hawkins has been announced as a finalist for Accountant of The Year.

For the Business Finance Team of the Year, the judges assess; the ability to work well as a team, increased performance, efficiency and effectiveness as a result of the team’s work and effective collaboration with other departments. Our finance team are the backbone of the company, their work is a vital component of our continuous growth.

I am delighted to hear Matthew and our finance team have been named as finalists for two accountancy awards. Their continuous support has allowed our growth to hit new heights and I’m proud that their hard work is being recognised.

Matthew Hawkins, our financial controller, received the second nomination for the Accountant of the Year category. For the award we needed to demonstrate; innovation and initiative took, an increased financial achievement for the company and team working and approachability. Since joining the firm in July, Matthew has quickly become a fundamental member of the team and we are honoured to have him at Cleveland Containers.

To be shortlisted as a finalist for Accountant of the Year is an absolute honour. And for my team to be by my side as finalists for the Business Finance Team of the Year is a very proud moment for me. Although I have only been at the firm ten months, the organisation has a relentless, can-do attitude and this environment has allowed my team and me to thrive.

The next stage is a judging day on May 19th, held at the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead. This is followed by a black-tie awards dinner on June 30th at the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead.
