Paul Kell Shortlisted for Health and Safety Manager of the Year

Congratulations are in order for our very own Paul Kell who has been successfully shortlisted at this years’ Safety & Health Excellence Awards in the ‘Health and Safety Manager of the Year’ category.

This category recognises managers who have made a significant contribution to the implementation or enhancement of health, safety or wellbeing standards within either their own or a client organisation.

I feel very humbled to have been put forward for this award and to have been shortlisted as well is such a great feeling. The support my team and colleagues within Cleveland have given me since joining has been nothing short of fantastic, and we should all be very proud of what we have achieved in such a short period of time.

Paul Kell, Health and Safety Manager at Cleveland

Since joining the business last year, Paul has reviewed all policies, procedures and RAMS and carried out a gap analysis to make practical improvement at both the depot and head office.

Paul has introduced a new safe systems of work (SSOW) procedure for high-risk activities and embarked on auditing processes to ensure Cleveland became full members of Alcumus SSIP, RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) and the MPBA (Modular Portable Building Association).

With the support of Health and Safety Administrator, Lisa Rhatigan, Paul’s efforts enabled Cleveland to gain UKAS accredited ISO standards in 9001, 14001, 45001 in record time. This demonstrates that we operate at the highest international standard in Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety respectively.

Paul has made an incredible impact to the business since joining and his passion and enthusiasm for his profession is infectious. He operates at a high standard and instils this in those around him too. It is a genuine pleasure to have Paul onboard.

Andrew Thompson, Chief Executive Officer at Cleveland

The winners of all 19 categories will be revealed at a gala dinner hosted by Tess Daly on 26 April 2023 at The Vox, NEC Birmingham.
