Education Village required a bespoke 20ft Shipping Container conversion at Beaumont Hill Academy, a specialist provider for children with special educational needs.

This versatile custom build container combines secure storage, outdoor learning space and a dedicated enterprise area within a single multi-purpose solution, supporting both day-to-day operations and student development.

Upgraded Container for Multiple Uses

The unit was internally partitioned to create two separate functional spaces.

The first section provides secure storage for gardening tools and outdoor play equipment. To improve accessibility, the original cargo doors were removed and replaced with double personnel doors, allowing staff to move equipment in and out quickly and safely.

The second section is being used as a flexible learning environment. Two new openings were created, one in the side of the container and another at the end. Both fitted with roller shutter doors. When opened, the space becomes a covered outdoor area where students can learn, play and take part in practical activities throughout the year.

Supporting Outdoor Learning and Student Enterprise

As well as providing a sheltered outdoor learning space, the container will also be used as a pop-up shop operated by enterprise students.

The flexible space supports a range of educational activities while encouraging students to develop practical skills in a safe and engaging environment.

By combining secure storage with an adaptable teaching, the container provides a valuable resource that can evolve alongside the school's needs.

External Container Upgrades

To complement the surrounding school environment, the entire container was professionally resprayed in black before cladding was added externally, creating a modern and durable finish.

The completed conversion delivers a practical and highly functional space, demonstrating how bespoke container conversions can help the education sector maximise space while creating engaging environments for students and staff.
