Inspired by the Middlesbrough FC Fan Zone we had previously delivered, they saw the opportunity to transform an underused space into a vibrant social hub that would boost matchday spirit and drive food and drink sales. The club asked us to create a similar concept, tailored specifically to their ground and their supporters.

Bishop Auckland FC FanZone

The whole process was professional and straightforward, and the drawings they provided were excellent for getting through building control.
Our requirements were for it to look great and fit perfectly into a specific space, which it absolutely does.

The Build

We began with a 40ft high cube shipping container, modifying one side to feature three sets of bifolding doors that open directly onto the pitchside area. This creates a bright, open environment for supporters and keeps them connected to the action.

On top of the main unit, we constructed a second-storey platform complete with safety railings. An external staircase leads up to a 10ft container positioned above the structure, fitted out as a cosy lounge area with a table, chairs, and TV - giving fans a comfortable, elevated space to relax and socialise.

Both containers were finished in sleek black paint and matching cladding, unifying the look and giving the Fan Zone / Community Hub a modern, high-quality finish that complements the club’s facilities.

The finished product has been a huge success. Everyone is amazed that it’s made from shipping containers. The quality of the cladding is second to none, and the bifold doors are better than many people have in their homes. Fans have said it’s a definite ground improvement and it looks fantastic.

A big thank you to everyone involved - from start to finish, the service was excellent. We’d definitely work with Cleveland Containers again.
