The Retford site was one of Storebox's earlier container-based self storage developments, creating a dedicated facility at West Carr Road, Retford, from a prominent roadside location.

Cleveland Containers supplied 20ft shipping containers to create individual storage units across the site, with the layout making effective use of the available space.

The site was planned with future growth in mind, with the initial development providing scope for additional units as demand increased.

The containers were also branded and arranged to create a clear, consistent appearance across the facility, helping transform a collection of shipping containers into a dedicated self storage site.

Storebox Self Storage Sheffield

Storebox’s expansion at 236 Woodbourn Road, Sheffield, was supported by Cleveland Containers, which supplied 20ft shipping containers to extend the existing self storage site.

The additional containers created more individual storage units while allowing Storebox to increase capacity within the space already available.

Storebox Self Storage Stockton

More recently, Cleveland Containers supported Storebox with its Stockton site, which opened in 2025 at Guisley Way, Durham Lane Industrial Park, Eaglescliffe, Stockton-on-Tees.

The facility provides self storage for customers across Eaglescliffe, Stockton-on-Tees, Thornaby, Yarm and the surrounding areas. The site uses stacked shipping containers, with stairs providing access to the upper level. This allows Storebox to make greater use of the available footprint and create additional storage capacity without requiring additional land.

The multi-level layout provides a practical solution for making the most of the site while maintaining individual, secure storage units for customers.

Storebox Self Storage Middlesbrough

The Middlesbrough location takes a slightly different approach, combining indoor and outdoor self storage within a more compact site at 78 North Ormesby Road, close to the town centre.

With 26 storage units, the site makes use of the space available rather than requiring a large standalone development.

Storebox also allocated spare car parking space to the storage facility, helping to put otherwise unused space to work.

Despite its smaller footprint, the site is busy, demonstrating how self storage can work in a more urban location where available space is limited.
