In May 2026, Cleveland Group completed a new workshop setup at its Doncaster depot, creating dedicated areas for cleaning, maintaining and electrically testing units.

The setup uses six 40ft High Cube Shipping Containers and two McGregor Shelters to provide covered working areas, helping the depot team carry out essential tasks in a more practical working environment.

The new facilities form part of Cleveland Group’s wider investment in its Doncaster depot, which opened in August 2026 to strengthen its ability to serve customers across South Yorkshire and the wider Yorkshire region. The Doncaster site is part of Cleveland's wider network of depots across the UK, supporting customers across its different divisions.

Creating a better working environment

Having suitable working space is important to the day-to-day running of a depot. At Doncaster, the new setup gives the team dedicated areas to work on units under cover, providing protection from the elements throughout the year.

Six 40ft x 8ft shipping containers have been arranged into two horseshoe-shaped layouts, with a MacGregor Shelter covering each area. Each covered workspace measures 40ft x 40ft and can accommodate up to three 32ft units at a time.

This arrangement provides space for the team to work on multiple units while making effective use of the available depot space.

By using our own units and installing a canopy to keep the area watertight, we were able to quickly create a safe, secure and cost-effective workspace for our day-to-day operations.

Supporting day-to-day depot operations

Alongside the two covered working areas, two central shipping containers have been joined together to create a 40ft x 16ft workshop.

The layout includes designated areas for materials, tools and workshop activities, with facilities for storing equipment and supporting different tasks. This brings working space and essential resources together within the depot.

From cleaning units to carrying out electrical testing, the setup provides a practical environment for the team’s day-to-day work.
