Chatterbox #12: How Squab Provide More Than Simple Storage

Emma Banks from Squab Group discusses how the self storage company has diversified to offer other business solutions.

Emma Banks, Group Sales Manager from Squab Group, joins us for episode 12 of Chatterbox - Outside the Box: Standing Out in the World of Self Storage.

Being in the industry for 6 years, Emma explains what Squab does differently in the storage trade and how the business has diversified over the years. Offering more than just storage, Squab stands as a leading example of a versatile organisation.

Originating as a farm in Leamington Spa in 2005, owner Emlyn Evans diversified its original farming space into self storage, ultimately leading to the organisation's evolution into the leading storage company it is today. The organisation's name, Squab Group, stems from its origins as Squab Hall Farm, reflecting its journey from agriculture to storage solutions (not after a baby pigeon).

Squab Group has now created its own sub brand, Squab Workspace. Available at every storage site, their company expansion allows customers to create their own ideal workspace with a range of state-of-the-art amenities and onsite business support services.

With multiple developments planned for the future, Squab Group is at the forefront of self storage innovation.

Other talking points include:

  • How to satisfy customers
  • Planning for both storage and business usage
  • Strategies to stay ahead of common storage problems
  • Benefits of monthly networking
  • Supporting the local community and charity work
  • Branding and signage
